Leymiat is between Lyon and Geneva. The village is typical of the region because all the houses are buil in the same style.

 

The river Veyron runs througth the village and is an affluent of the river Ain. It takes its source in the mountains of Cerdon.

The architectecture of the houses is typical: the stables were next to the cellar and the living rooms were on the first floor . There was a staircase linking the ground floor to the first floor.
